Major Attractions in Llubí
Llubí has some beautiful buildings dating back to the 16th century. The church of Sant Feliu was constructed between 1570 and 1650, though later expanded in the mid 19th century. The feast day of Sant Feliu, on 1st August, is an important festivity and prompts a week of cultural activity.
The oldest part of town is the Son Ramis neighbourhood where there are enchanting old stone houses, many with arched doorways. Originally the square of Plaza de la Carretera was called the Aljubs de Son Ramis, named after the well which would have supplied water to the town.
There are nine mills in and around Llubí. The flour mills of Son Rafal, En Serra, Can Moreu and d'En Blanc have all been incorporated into housing. The charming Suau mill is used as a beekeeping museum. Every third Sunday in November the town hosts the popular honey fair, La Fira de la Mel.
The town has three crosses made from local marès stone. La Creu de Son Ramis and La Creu del Molí de Son Rafel date back to the 1680s, while Sa Creu was erected in 1825.
Things to do in Llubí
Wander along Arraval street to see the old stone homes, many built in the 17th century. Admire the church of Sant Feliu at the leafy Plaza de l'Església, where you can enjoy a coffee and soak up the tranquil atmosphere. Find the three baroque crosses and the mills that once were essential in the production of flour. For views of the countryside and crumbling Talayotic remains, head along Carrer Sineu to the Conjunt des Racons. Another pleasurable outing is to the Ermita del Sant Crist del Remei. The small chapel is located 1km from the centre of town and is situated in a grassy area designed for picnics and barbeques.
Restaurants in Llubí
For a small, traditional town Llubí certainly has some surprisingly avant-garde restaurants. The warehouse-style Restaurant Brut is known for its intimate tasting menus which transforms local produce into intriguing works of art, complemented by their own craft beer and local wines.
DaiCa, featured in the Michelin Guide, offers a high end dining experience within a rustic town house. Caterina Pieras creative tasting menu is fuelled by local produce and each dish is beautifully presented. For a lower key Mediterranean lunch or supper in a shabby chic setting, there's S'Acústicafè.
